Yes, definitely. Even after the Hb was normal again, all my muscles were affected and extreme weak (holding a phone was hard). Over time only my legs are still bothering me. Not so much weak but exercising was for a long time painful such as walking up/down stairs, getting in/out of chairs. Regular walking was fine, but any exercise that was slighty more intense I could not even keep up for 30 or 60 seconds (I joined an physio sports club and I cannot keep up with the pensioners). For a year now the iliopsoas muscle group is causing problems with walking and sports (dancing). Thanks to lots of practice things are slowly getting better.

Yes, after 3 haemolytic episodes and I am now stable. I had skeletal muscles all over my body affected by the steroids and a year of resistance exercise I am a so much happier but still have periods of tiredness and fatigue frequently. I still find, to my surprise, muscles that do not work well together and the physio gives me exercise to improve those functional changes I identified. On the off days, I just take it easy and still exercise but not strenuously. The fatigue come and goes in days. I asked the doctors why, they did not know. I started off slowly with a book on exercises for the over 50s. and couple of tins of beans for weights. This was brilliant. I walked in 500m lots gradually increasing over time. i wrote all this down so I could see my slow achievements. The idea to get help from an exercise physiologist to get a programme initially then a physio was my idea as the medical people would not advise or even talk about an exercise programme. Those appointments have ben invaluable. I was an unknown quantity with these allied health practitioners so everything was done slowly. This is working for me at present as I have better endurance and stamina in everyday living activities. I am now able to participate in free community classes for walking, and tai chi and exercises.

I did. Is from Prednisone. It was also from dexamethasone cuz 2 weeks of dexamethasone destroyed all my strength for a few months. Then it was from Prednisone and Omeprazole mixed. Now I don't take Omeprazole anymore cuz I have a small dose of Prednisone, 2 pill per day aka 5mg * 2 . 10mg per day total. I have more strength after a year since I discovered the AIHA.

I've noticed my legs getting weaker. I fell trying to get up onto a step a week or so ago. I shall have to be more careful in future. I am due to speak to my consultant, after another blood test, soon. I am keeping a note of my symptoms.
