I was diagnosed with warm AIHA five years ago. I can tell when my Hemoglobin falls, For the past 4 months my blood tests have been wonkie and had another bone marrow biopsy which says I now have CCUS and my Hematologist keeps going over everything searching for anything he may have missed as my Blood Tests has him baffled, he is requesting a 2nd opinion on the bone marrow test in hopes they might find something the first one missed. I recently had a Blood Transfusion June 4th and another one June 17th. Now at night my feet start itching so badly around 11:30 PM -12:00 . midnight. I think now it's from the Blood Transfusion but don't really know. All I am sure of is, I am so tired of this battle! The numbness in my feet, the weakness in my legs, the shortness of breath walking such a short distance. For the past month I've held down my recliner because I haven't been able to do anything. Then because I fall asleep during the day I get Insomnia at night. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Is it common to worry that AIHA is causing every symptom when feeling slightly off?

You're definitely not alone in this! Many people with AIHA find themselves wondering if their condition is behind every little symptom they experience. This heightened awareness is actually quite common when living with a chronic condition.

Is it common to worry that AIHA is causing every symptom when feeling slightly off?

You're definitely not alone in this! Many people with AIHA find themselves wondering if their condition is behind every little symptom they experience. This heightened awareness is actually quite common when living with a chronic condition.

AIHA can cause a wide range of symptoms that might make you feel "off," including:
* Fatigue and lethargy
* Weakness or dizziness
* Shortness of breath
* Headaches
* Confusion
* Muscle soreness

The challenge is that some of these symptoms overlap with everyday issues like stress, lack of sleep, or even just having a busy day. It's natural to become hyperaware of your body when you're managing a condition like this.

One myAIHAteam member shared, "I spent months in a depressed state because my diagnosis seemed like a dead end," while another said, "Feeling exhausted already, and I have no motivation to get anything done." These feelings of uncertainty and worry are part of the emotional reality of living with AIHA.

If you're frequently concerned about new or changing symptoms, it's worth discussing them with your doctor. They can help you distinguish between AIHA-related issues and other causes, which might ease some of that anxiety.
